If you are upgrading to the new Apple iPad or iPhone 4G, the move to a new format for the SIM card is probably a surprise. The old SIM (a 15 x 25mm plastic card) doesn’t fit in these new devices; they now require the new MicroSIM (also known as a 3FF SIM – a smaller 12 x 15mm card).
So what can you do? Most people get an additional line of service for $20-$30 a month. But with one purchase, you can use your phone sim in your iPad. If it’s unlocked, then you can use from a carrier other than AT&T, just adjust the appropriate APN settings.
